Leh, May 8: Executive Councillor (Minority/Forest), LAHDC Leh, Ghulam Mehdi, today visited the Nubra sub-division to take stock of arrangements and preparations for the Covid-19 patients. With Covid-19 cases on the rise in Ladakh, Executive Councillor Mehdi held a meeting with Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Nubra; Block Medical Officer (BMO), Station House Officer (SHO), Nubra and Officer Commanding (OC) 54 RCC.
The points discussed during the meeting included the installation of an oxygen plant at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Nubra, offline registration for Covid-19 vaccination for beneficiaries between 18-45 age group and an alternative Covid Care Centre for emergencies.
EC Mehdi directed OC of 54 RCC to strictly instruct labourers to adhere to Covid-19 SOPs and employ local and non-local labourers separately.
He later visited SDH Nubra and Covid Care Centre at Diskit. He appreciated the BMO and paramedical staff for their work.
BMO Dr Disket requested EC Mehdi to provide gloves, face masks and sanitisers for distribution among patients placed in home isolation; construction of separate bathroom and toilet at the Covid Care Centre for medical staff, a dedicated vehicle with the driver to transport the patients in all the halqas of Nubra subdivision.
EC Mehdi informed BMO to look into the matter at the earliest.
