Chandigarh, May 8- Haryana Red Cross Society is fully prepared to provide all possible help to the people of the state in this hour of crisis due to Corona pandemic.
Haryana Governor, Sh. Satyadeo Narain Arya, who is also the President of Haryana Red Cross Society, said this while virtually inaugurating the 75-bedded Covid Hospital in Faridabad through video conferencing from Haryana Raj Bhawan. The hospital was inaugurated in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society and Bharat Vikas Parishad.
He paid his respect to Red Cross founder Henry Dunant by garlanding his statue at Raj Bhawan today on the occasion of World Red Cross Day. Besides this, he also released two books ‘Journey of 50 Years’ -Red Cross and ‘Journey of 50 Years’-St. John on the Golden Jubilee of the Indian Red Cross Society (Haryana State Branch) and St. John’s Ambulance.
Congratulating the people on the Golden Jubilee of the Indian Red Cross Society (Haryana State Branch) and St. John Ambulance, he appealed to support the loyal volunteers of these institutions in this fight against the pandemic in this hour of crisis and also protect themselves from it. He said that in this challenging time, Red Cross is continuously working for humanity.
He said that the Haryana Red Cross Society has demanded 250 oxygen concentrators from the Indian Red Cross Society, out of which 40 concentrators have been delivered and have helped the Corona patients. On arrival of remaining concentrators these will be distributed to all the districts. He said that keeping in view the increasing demand of blood and blood plasma by the society, special campaigns are being conducted. He said that oxygen cylinders have also been provided by the Bharat Vikas Parishad for the needy patients in the hospital as well Governor Sh. Satyadeo Narain Arya expressed gratitude to General Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society, Sh. R.K. Jain, Vice President of Bharat Vikas Parishad and Haryana Red Cross Society, Smt. Sushma. On this occasion, Sh. RK Jain and Sh. D.R. Sharma apprised about the work done by the committee during COVID-19 crisis.
