Wheat Payment halted due to issues in accounts which will be resolved very soon – Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala

Chandigarh, May 11 – Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala has issued orders to transfer the payments in farmers’ bank accounts with immediate effect whose payments have not been transferred due to various reasons. He said that the wheat procurement amount of most of the farmers in the State has been paid.

Deputy Chief Minister said this after presided over a meeting with senior officers of the Food and Supplies Department and Hafed today. He said that about 56,000 bank accounts of the farmers are yet to be receive payments, out of which payment in 50,000 accounts will be made by Wednesday. In the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the procurement and payment process with the officers and gave them necessary guidelines.

Deputy Chief Minister Sh. Dushyant Chautala informed that about 12,000 accounts are being investigated for which correct information is being obtained post contacting the farmers. Apart from these, there are more than 16,000 farmers who have not uploaded their account information correctly. Such farmers will be asked to correct their online records in a week so that payments can be initiated.

The Deputy Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the online transfer program of wheat procurement this year and said that giving money against the produced crops to the farmers directly in their account is one of the main objectives of the Government. He hoped that cases of uploading correct records and bank account information will improve eventually in the next season and then every farmer will receive the payments against the procured crops within 48 hours.

Along with this, the Deputy Chief Minister said that orders have been given to purchase all the wheat in the grain markets of the state for which gatepasses have been issued. Such procurement will be completed by Wednesday. He said that the officers have been directed to complete the wheat procurement work by May 15, 2021.

Sh. Dushyant Chautala also informed that for the farmers whose wheat has not yet arrived in the mandis, he assured that soon a day will be fixed for the government procurement.
