Chandigarh, May 13:
The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 1,32,186 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 29th day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 1,32,186 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 130838 MT of wheat 1348 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtyias).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 30210 metric tonnes, MARKFED 40500 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 28113 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 12194 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 14600 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 5221 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 120,10098 MT.
He further said today 335963 LMT wheat lifted from the Mandies and payment of rupees 17616 cr.has been made for the procurement of wheat.
