VILLAGES TO BE INTEGRAL PART OF FIGHT AGAINST CORONA INFECTION

–PUNJAB GOVT ROLLS OUT PLAN FOR EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF COVID IN VILLAGES

Villages would now be an integral part of the fight against corona infection wherein at the village effective management of covid patients will be done. For this, the village panchayats will partner with the government with constant vigil of the health department. Great emphasis is being laid on early testing and treatment of covid positive patients at home itself.

Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh said while rolling out a plan for effective of covid in villages with active participation of the village panchayat and its people. The Chief Minister announced that Rs 10 lakhs special grant shall be given to those villages that attain the target of 100 percent vaccination of eligible people.

He said that already level 3 health facilities had 85 percent occupancy rate in the state, while that of level 2 was 34 percent, which shows that people rush to hospitals only when health condition deteriorates. He called upon the people to get tested for covid as soon as they come across covid-like symptoms so that the infection can be dealt with at the earliest.

          Deputy Commissioner Mr Tej Partap Singh Phoolka said that the program was simultaneously telecast at 80 locations in district Barnala. He called upon villagers to be a part of this crusade.

          Meanwhile, sarpanch Harjinder Singh from Pakho Ke said that at his village vaccination of 550 villagers has already been done. Besides this, the needy families in the village were getting free ration. He added that villagers will keep on cooperating with the government.

Sarpanch Manjit Kaur from village Kurar said that her panchayat is actively getting villagers tested and vaccinated. Sarpanch Kuldeep Kaur from village Badbar called upon people to follow all covid protocols and stay safe.
