Haryana reissues orders pertaining to  Mahamari Alert-Surakhsit Haryana’ orders to ease delivery of services related to Agriculture

Chandigarh, May 20 – Haryana Government has issued directions for repeating ‘Mahamari Alert-Surakhsit Haryana’ orders for easing in delivery of services related to Agriculture to the farmers.

A notification in this regard has been issued by the Haryana State Disaster Management Authority to the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners in the State to ensure the compliance of these orders in letter and in spirit.

Sharing more details in this regard, an official spokesperson said that it is reiterated that many activities related to agriculture and related activities are allowed in the guidelines pertaining to ‘Mahamari Alert- Surakhsit Haryana.

The relevant sections from the guidelines for implementation of ‘Mahamari Alert- Surakhsit Haryana’ are hereby repeated for easing in delivery of agricultural services.

As per the directions, agencies engaged in procurement of agriculture products, including MSP operations and ‘Mandis ‘ operated by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department shall work without restrictions.

All agriculture and horticulture activities to remain fully functional

The spokesperson said that all agriculture and horticulture activities including Farming operations by farmers and farm workers infield, agencies engaged in procurement of agriculture products, including MSP operations and ‘Mandis’ operational by the Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) or as notified by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Haryana (e.g., Satellite mandis) will remain fully functional.

He further said that direct marketing operations by the State Government or by industry, directly from farmers or group of farmers, FPOs’, co-operatives etc will remain fully functional.

Apart from this, the department concerned may promote decentralized marketing and procurement at the village level. Shops of agriculture machinery, its parts (including its supply chain) and repairs and ‘Custom Hiring Centres (CHC) ‘ related to farm machinery will also remain open.

The spokesperson further informed that manufacturing, distribution and retail of fertilizers, pesticides and seeds and movement (inter and Intra State) of harvesting and sowing related machines like combined harvester and other agriculture/horticulture implement will also remain functional.

Activities related to Fisheries to remain functional

The spokesperson said that Fisheries activities including operations of fishing (marine and inland) / aquaculture industry, including feeding and maintenance, harvesting, processing, packaging, cold chain, sale and marketing, hatcheries, feed plants, commercial aquaria will also remain functional. Besides this, movement of fish/ shrimp and fish products, fish seed/feed and workers for all these activities will also remain functional.

Activities related to Animal husbandry to remain functional

The spokesperson said that the collection, processing, distribution and sale of milk and milk products by milk processing plants, including transport and supply chain will remain functional.

The operation of animal husbandry farms including poultry farms and hatcheries and livestock farming activity and animal feed manufacturing and feed plants, including supply of raw material, such as maize and soya will also remain functional. Operation of animal shelter homes including Gaushalas will also be allowed, he added.
