Centre Government approves five more PSA plants for State:CM

SHIMLA MAY 25, 2021:

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said here today that total oxygen production installed capacity in the State was around 85 MT of oxygen per day and the current utilization capacity is around 67 MT oxygen, whereas the current consumption of the state is around 56 MT of oxygen.

Chief Minister said that the State has about 6500 D-Type and 2250 B-Type cylinders. He said that a Liquid oxygen cryo facility of 15KL was functional at Tanda Medical College, whereas one ASU (Air Separation Unit) facility was functional at IGMC of around 350 D-Type capacity. He said that all the remaining capacity of medical oxygen has been created in the State during the tenure of the present State Government.

Jai Ram Thakur said that six PSA plants have been added to the State’s resources in the last few months and are now functional at Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Government Medical College Nahan, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Medical College, Chamba, Dr. Radha Krishanan Government Medical College Hamirpur, Zonal Hospital Dharamshala, DDU Shimla and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College, Ner Chowk. He said that  two PSA plants of 1000 LPM were being constructed at Mother Child  Hospital Zonal Hospital Mandi and CH Palampur.

Chief Minister said that the Union Government has approved 5 more PSA plants to be established in coordination with DRDO in the State. He said that two of these plants will be established at IGMC Shimla and one each at Regional Hospital Una, Regional Hospital Solan and Military Hospital, Yol.  He said that each of these plants would be of 1000 LPM capacity.

Jai Ram Thakur said that in addition, a 20 Kilo Litre cryogenic tank has been installed at IGMC Shimla and would be made functional very soon.
