UDHAMPUR, MAY 29, 2021: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib, today briefed general public and media regarding vaccination and appealed to the left out high priority categories of people falling in the age group of 18-44 years to come forward and get vaccinated.
She said maximum immunization will create herd immunity and appealed the masses to join hands with the initiative of Government against Covid-19.
While briefing the media, the DC congratulated Journalists, Shopkeepers, Vendors, Labours, Drivers, Lawyers, PDD and PHE workers who enthusiastically participated in the vaccination drive. The DC said that the District Administration has established various vaccination sites for every category across the District.
The DC further added that the district Administration is focusing on to cover left out persons by stepping up the drive. She also appealed to left out categories like specially abled, widows, Orphans and Single mothers to come forward to take vaccination. She said that the vaccine is the ultimate tool to fight against this dreaded virus. “We can win only if every individual comes forward for vaccination. It is safe and will protect us from the infection” she appealed.
Deputy Commissioner also requested the Municipal Committees and PRIs to identify and support the senior citizens above the age group of 80-85 in their respective areas who are unable to walk and help administration for vaccination at their doorstep. She requested the left out Labour class category/ Rehari Walas to come forward to take benefit of this drive as it will boost their immunity to fight against Covid-19.The DC said that the virus had still not been completely eradicated and a caution is needed to prevent the surge.
