Trees are the ornaments of the earth, so protecting trees and nature will save life – Dheera Khandelwal

On the initiative of Environment Department, a webinar series organised in association with Pollution Control Board and Haryana Power Utilities concluded today

Chandigarh, June 10 – With the vision of Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Power, Sh. P.K. Das, Environment Department and Haryana Power Utilities along with the active participation of Pollution Control Board, Haryana and Higher Education Department on the occasion of Environment Day, a series of webinars which commenced from June 5, concluded with the recitation of self-composed poems by Additional Chief Secretary, Environment Department, Smt. Dheera Khandelwal today.

This poem penned by Smt. Dheera Khandelwal is an echo of the nature and it was recited among hundreds of students associated with Environmental Knowledge Centre.

Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Dheera Khandewal said that during this webinar series which commenced on June 5, 2021, the conclusion of the dialogue during these webinars will make the dream of a pollution free Haryana come true.

The keynote speaker, Director of CSSRI, Dr. Prabhodh Chandra Sharma elaborated on the Indian farming tradition and scientific method in detail. He told that agricultural scientists have played a revolutionary role in making the Indian society self-sufficient in food. Now, the time has come when Indian farmers have to adopt nature friendly culture.

The member secretary of the Pollution Control Board, Sh. S. Narayanan said that the resolve taken by thousands of students from all the Environmental Knowledge Centres of Haryana to become environmental protectors would be visible in the coming time.

Besides this, Dr. Ram Viranjan, Dr. RS Pathania from Kurukshetra, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur from Kurukshetra, Rahul, Sunil, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Ravindra from Ambala, Sauni Khanna and Meenakshi from Gurugram, Shabnam from Jamia Millia, Sharda from Panchkula participated in the online fine arts workshop organised parallel to this discussion.

Programme Coordinator, Sh. Rajiv Ranjan said that this 6-day discussion of nature knowledge has become the best platform for art, literature, music presentation. Apart from this, Dr. Vinod and Rachna from Ambala, Gurudev Singh from Rohtak also performed songs of nature protection. In making the whole event possible, Haimant Verma from the Higher Education Department, Rita Rai, Secretary of the Initiation Committee and H.V.P.N. Manish Yadav, K Software Engineer played an active role.
