The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) got a major boost when Mehtab Singh, who has been active in Punjab politics for a long time and is a three-time MLA from Jalalabad, joined the party along with hundreds of his associates on Tuesday. Also, Joginder Kaka, a social worker from Bathinda, joined the AAP’s family. AAP’s Punjab affairs incharge and MLA from Delhi, Jarnail Singh, party’s state general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat and treasurer Neena Mittal, formally inducted Mehtab Singh, Joginder Kaka and their associates during a press conference held at the party headquarters here.
Jarnail Singh said that today due to the anti-people policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Punjab , state leaders, sportspersons, lawyers, journalists and social activists; that is every section of the society is joining the AAP. He said that the joining of former Punjab MLA and political expert Mehtab Singh in the AAP family has led to a huge increase in the party’s convoy. Welcoming eminent social activist Joginder Kaka of Bathinda, Jarnail Singh said that the involvement of social workers in the Aam Aadmi Party has boosted the morale of the party workers as the AAP started its political journey with the objective of social service.
Expressing his happiness, former CPI leader and MLA Mehtab Singh, who joined the AAP said that although he was physically attached to the party today; he was spiritually attached to Arvind Kejriwal’s policies long ago. He said that during the Delhi elections, his son worked exclusively for the AAP candidates and ensured their victory. The leaders who joined the AAP said they would work to form the Aam Aadmi Party government in the coming Assembly elections. AAP leaders including Nabha constituency incharge Gurdev Singh Dev Mann, Kulwant Singh, Bhupinder Singh Kallar Majri, Manpreet Kalia, Balwinder Singh among others were also present on the occasion.
