DC Budgam reviews progress of Covid-19 vaccination drive across the district
BUDGAM, JUNE 18 2021 The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today convened a meeting of concerned officers at DC office Complex here to take stock of ongoing Covid-19 vaccination drive launched across the district.
At the outset, the meeting was informed that Vaccination drives for both age groups above 45 years of age and 18 to 44 years age group are going on in full swing across the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC hailed the efforts of all stakeholders and instructed them to continue the vaccination drive with full enthusiasm and energy to ensure the fight against Covid-19 is taken to its logical end.
During the meeting, the DC gave instructions to set up a Committee at all Tehsil level headed by Tehsildar and assisted by BDOs and BMOs. The Committee shall hold regular meetings and review its strategy and chalk out effective plan regarding vaccination of the remaining population under both age groups.
The meeting was informed that 79 percent of the population of the district above 45 years of age has been vaccinated till date while 44 percent of the population in the age group of 18 to 44 has also been vaccinated.
The DC reiterated that no laxity or leniency on part of officials of District Administration shall be accepted so far as their engagement with Vaccination is concerned. He further said that, Vaccination drive needs to be ramped up and continued on a war footing basis as it is the most effective way of stopping the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ADDC Budgam, Akramulla Tak; ADC Budgam, Nasir Ahmad; all SDMs, ACD, CMO, Tehsildars, BDOs, BMOs CDPOs and other concerned officials.
