Chandigarh, June 24 – Union Minister for External Affairs, Sh. S. Jaishankar lauded the Haryana Police for exemplary performance in prompt disposal of Passport verification work in the state.
Giving this information here today, Director General of Police (DGP) Haryana, Sh. Manoj Yadava informed that on the occasion of Passport Sewa Diwas, the Union Minister appreciated the Haryana Police in the passport verification exercise. Our joint efforts and personal monitoring played a vital role in this entire exercise.
The DGP also congratulated ADGP CID Sh. Alok Mittal for successfully coordinating with concerned Regional Passport offices and all district SPs for ensuring prompt and accurate verification of passport applications.
It is a proud moment for the entire police force as it has got recognition at the national level. He also commended all field units for their excellent performance and recognition at the national level.
Union Ministry would also issue a certificate of recognition for the outstanding work done in this regard.
It is worthwhile to mention that state police had brought down the passport verification to five days. We are also trying to bring it down to less than five days. Last year, Haryana Police has bagged the third rank in speedy passport verification across the country, he added.
Notably, the Ministry of External Affairs observes June 24 every year as Passport Sewa Diwas.
