COMMISSIONERATE POLICE REUNITES 104 YEARS OLD MISSING GRANDFATHER WITH FAMILY IN THREE HOURS

RESIDENTS HAD INFORMED POLICE STATION AFTER THEY FOUND THE OLD MAN WHO LOST HIS WAY BACK HOME

In an instance of diligent, humanitarian and effective policing, the commissionerate Police on Friday reunited a 104 years old man to his family, who had forgotten his home and was found stranded in the streets of Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar.
SHO Basti Bawa Khel Police Station Ashwini Kumar, whose personal efforts bore fruit in three hour long search, said that he received the information about an old man who had lost track of his home at 11 am.
Some residents in Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar took care of man identified later as Boota Ram until police arrived. Acting swiftly, police team reached the spot and took the elderly man with them to Basti Bawa Khel Police Station.
The SHO said Boota Ram told the police that he had left the home to have a haircut at a nearby saloon but while returning he got lost and couldn’t make it home.
Some residents helped him with drinking water and tea to console him besides informing local police.
Boota Ram stated that he belonged to Rasulpur village in Nakodar after which constable Rakesh Kumar sent his picture to his relatives living in Rasulpur village, who immediately identified the Boota Ram. They informed his family members about the incident, who shared the information with his son Lakhvir Singh, living in Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar, the locality where Boota Ram was found lost.
After receiving the information, Lakhvir Singh immediately rushed to Basti Bawa Khel Police Station, where he took a sigh of relief to see his father safe. Lakhvir Singh thanked the SHO Ashwini Kumar, ASI Roop Lal, and Costable Rakesh Kumar for their concerted efforts in reuniting his father with the family.
He stated that the whole family including grandchildren were worried about their grandfather, who went missing this morning.
