MODEL COLONIES WILL BE DEVELOPED IN VILLAGES ON THE LINES OF PLANNED SECTORS

THE DEPUTY CHIEF MINISTER LAID THE FOUNDATION STONE OF JAN NAYAK CHAUDHARY DEVI LAL MODEL COLONY AS A PILOT PROJECT

SUCH COLONIES WILL ALSO BE DEVELOPED IN NARNAUND AND BAHADURGARH

Chandigarh, June 26. Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala on Saturday laid the Foundation stone of Jan Nayak Chaudhary Devi Lal Model Colony in Israna village of Panipat district. He said that while fulfilling the commitement of making a colony in the village with facilities at par with the cities, the beginning of developing such a colony has been started from Israna (Panipat). The Deputy Chief Minister had arrived in Panipat today to preside over the meeting of the District Grievance Redressal Committee, where he resolved 10 out of 12 complaints on the spot.

He said that Israna would be the first village in the state where the first model colony (rural sector) has been started over an area of 48 acres. He said that plots ranging from 180 yards to 500 yards would be available in this colony having facilities similar to the urban sector.

PARK, ELECTRICITY SUB-STATION AND SHOPPING CENTRE WILL BE PART OF THE COLONY

Parks will be developed over an area of 6.4 acres out of 48.5 acres of the  area of colony project in Israna. Roads will be spread over an area of 14.85 acres. The built up area will be on 26.80 acres. Community centre will be set up on 2 acres, electricity sub-station will be on 0.2 acres, dispensary will be on 0.26 acres, shopping centre will be on 3.6 acres, petrol pump will be on 0.3 acres, police post will be on 0.4 and primary school will be built over an area of 0.62 acres.

He said that this project has been started to provide urban facilities in the villages. Such model colonies will also be developed in Narnaund and Bahadurgarh as well. He said that 60% stake in this model colony of Israna would be owned by the original Israna residents and 40% stake would be open to all.

He said that if this experiment is successful then another colony will be developed over an area of 200 acres on an adjoining land. Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala also planted saplings after laying the foundation stone of the colony in Israna.

MP  Sh. Sanjay Bhatia, Panipat Urban MLA, Sh. Pramod Vij and Panipat Rural MLA, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda were also present on the occasion.
