Haryana Sahitya Akademi is starting 14 new ‘Yuva Shrestha Kriti Puraskar’ in various genres of Hindi and Haryanvi language from the year 2021,

Chandigarh, July 6– Haryana Sahitya Akademi is starting 14 new ‘Yuva Shrestha Kriti Puraskar’ in various genres of Hindi and Haryanvi language from the year 2021, under which prize money of Rs. 31,000 each will be given to the winners.

Giving information in this regard, Director, Haryana Sahitya Akademi, Dr. Chander Trikha, said that on the special directions of the Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, who is also the Chairman of Haryana Sahitya Akademi, the number of ‘Yuva Lekhak Samman Puraskar’ awarded in the state has also has been increased from two to four. In addition to this, the winner will be given an honorarium of Rs. 1 lakh instead of Rs. 50,000.

He said that a new literature award has also been approved by the Chief Minister in honour of the folk poet Sh. Dayachand Mayna for his remarkable contribution towards the folk literature and culture of the State through Haryanvi language. He said that this award is being started by the Haryana Sahitya Akademi from the year 2021 under the category of folk literature and culture under the name ‘Lok Kavi Dayachand Mayna Samman’. The amount of this award will be Rs. 2 Lakh.

It will be worth mentioning here that after the approval of the Chief Minister, the results of the pending literary awards (total 38), Shrestha Kriti Puraskar (total 37) and Manuscript (Pandulipi) Awards (total 75) schemes for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019 were also announced by the Akademi few days back. In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the amount of all these prizes has been deposited directly into the bank accounts of the winners.
