aking serious note of the in-ordinate delay in completion of Solid Waste Management plant Leh which is lingering since five years leaving the garbage management system of Leh city from getting bad to worse day by day, the Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal convened a meeting of Dy. Chairman Tsering Sandup, President MC Leh Dr. Ishey Namgyal, Deputy Commissioner Leh Sachin Kumar, Counicllor Upper Leh Ven. Lobzang Nyantak, Councillor Lower Leh Punchok Wangdan and heads and managers of concerned govt executing agencies including consultant of the project WAPCOS and executing agency 3Rmanagemnet Ptd. at Council Secretariat Leh today.
Enquiring about the reason behind the delay in timely completion of Solid Waste Management plant Leh despite deadlines fixed by Hill Council Leh several times for its completion early this season, CEC Wangyal warned that any further delay in commissioning of this much awaited project will be taken very seriously and stringent action will be taken under the project agreement rules and fixed 25th August 2020 for complete testing of the project followed by its inauguration in next couple of days.
The meeting was briefed that due to some technical problems in 100 Kwp Solar Power Plant at the plant site installed by LREDA the plant would not be started. Project Director LREDA Tsewang Thinles assured the meeting the SPP will be made functional within a week’s time.
The Solid Waste Management plant Leh when commissioned will be run by 3Rmanagemnet Ptd. for the next 18 months and handed over to MC Leh later.
CEC directed Xen. PDD Leh Tundup Spalzang to make a DPR for laying of power transmission line up to plant site to ensure proper power backup while Xen. PHE Leh Sonam Wangchok was directed to ensure proper water supply at the site. Xen. Construction Leh Nissar Ahmad was directed to complete the compound walling of the plant site within two days.
