Chandigarh,20 july 2021 The Department of Computer Science and Applications at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, under the aegis of college’s IQAC, organised a 5-days workshop on ‘ICT and Business Communication’. The objective of this workshop was to enhance the skills of the non-teaching staff in using various ICT tools for efficient conduct of their work. The resource persons Ms. Manmeet Kaur, Ms. Sandeep Kaur, Ms. Sonali Mehndiratta and Ms. Monika from Department of Computer Science and Applications and Dr. Sunaina Jain from Department of English discussed in detail tools like spread-sheet software, survey administration software, online tools for files merging and splitting, online tools for file format conversions and Business Communication skills required for the art of business letter writing. The resource persons also demonstrated and provided hands-on experience to the participants in various ICT tools. Over 26 staff members participated in the workshop and benefited from it, updating their skill sets in using ICT tools. All the participants were provided with the participation certificate.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava appreciated the efforts of the organising team for successfully conducting the workshop and asserted that in the present fast paced times, it is imperative to upskill in order to remain contextual. She added that with the objective of holistic development of its various stakeholders, MCM organises such skill enhancement workshops on a regular basis.
