Sampla calls on Vice President, informs about NCSC’s new initiative to provide justice to schedule castes

“The new Online Grievance Management Portal of NCSC is helping complainants to register the complaints from any part of the country”, says Sampla

Chandigarh, July 22, Thursday

The Chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), Vijay Sampla, made a courtesy call to Indian Vice President Sh M. Venkaiah Naidu and informed him about the new initiatives being taken to ensure the speedy justice to schedule castes.

Sampla, who had taken charge as the chairman of NCSC on February 24, this year, informed Vice President Naidu that the newly launched online portal—Online Grievance Management Portal of National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC)—has made it easier for the complainants to register the complaints from any part of the country.

“The new portal is facilitating an end-to-end e-filing of complaints and grievances. Also, through the portal, the complainants can track their grievances solving requests. Finally, the portal is hearing the complaint on the similar lines of the e-courts”, Sampla, the former union minister and one of the prominent Dalit faces of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab, said.

The online grievance management portal is linked to the Commission’s website and people can file their complaint after registering on it. With the facility of uploading documents, as well as audio and video files, the portal is supplementing the physical submission of the complaints and grievances.

The Vice President congratulated Sampla and hoped that NCSC, under his chairmanship, will ensure speedy justice for schedule castes in India.

It is worth mentioning that Sampla had joined the BJP in 1998 and after winning the Lok Sabha election from Punjab’s Hoshiarpur, he served as the Union minister of state for social justice and empowerment from 2014 to 2019. He has held several key posts in the BJP’s Punjab unit, including that of its president.
