Tarn Taran 22, August 2020

AAP volunteers continue their protest outside the office the SSP Tarn Taran for the third consecutive day as the later refused to meet and listen to the AAP legislators leading the protest for in action by the police in the case of illicit liquor trade.

AAP MLAs Meet Hayer and Manjit Singh Bilaspur who joined their colleague Kultar Singh in the  protest today said that the people of Punjab are fed up with Raja Amarinder Singh led Congress government as it has failed to deliver the promises of eradicating drugs, providing employment to every household, improving the lifestyle of farmers etc. AAP legislators, in a joint statement, said that the Chief Minister should shun his ‘Raja’ style and start listening to the woes of the public otherwise people of Punjab would actually confine him to his royal farm house.

Speaking on the occasion, AAP MLA Kultar Singh said that the royal lifestyle of Amarinder Singh is having impact on his officers which is quite evident from the attitude of SSP Tarn Taran who did not care to even talk to the people’s representative along with several volunteers of AAP and have forced them to continue their protest braving the weather for the third day. He said that the reluctance of SSP to meet the AAP volunteers clearly shows the political pressure of the Congress leaders patronizing the liquor mafia involved in the trade of illicit liquor. Reiterating their demand for registration of murder case against the congress leaders and liquor mafia responsible for deaths of several people in Majha region in general and Tarn Taran in particular, Kultar Singh said that being a public servant, SSP Tarn Taran should listen to voice of the representatives of the public rather than following the dictate of his political masters.
