The Department of Statistics and Mathematics, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized the Tree Plantation Drive to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence as “Bharat ka Amrut Mahotsav”. The faculty members, research scholars and non-teaching staff of the departments were part of this event. The faculty members, research scholars and non-teaching staff planted the approximately fifty different types of plants in the front and back side area of the mathematics building, informed Dr. Anju Goyal, Chairperson. She added that trees are part and parcel of our day to day life. She added that trees should be protected and not destroy and we should plant more trees for healthier life.
