2 inter-state drug peddlers held with 130 kg doda post

Chandigarh, July 29 – Haryana Police has arrested two inter-state drug peddlers and seized 130 kg of ‘doda post’ from their possession in Karnal district. The accused sourced the seized drug from Kota in Rajasthan.

Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that a team of Crime Investigation Agency, acting on credible information, established a naka on anjanthali-taraori road and signaled a vehicle to stop for checking after it was spotted moving in a suspicious manner. Instead of stopping, the driver tried to flee but was chased down and apprehended. When searched, police party recovered 13 bags weighing 130 kg doda post.

Arrested accused were identified as Surender Singh alias Sinder and Ajmer Singh.

Preliminary probe revealed that the accused brought the seized drugs from their contacts in Kota, Rajasthan and planned to supply it in small quantities in Punjab and other adjoining areas. Court had already convicted Surender in the NDPS case and sentenced him to 10 years jail. He was out of prison after completion of jail term.

In a separate case, 17 kg 200 gram ‘chura post’ was recovered from a container truck in Dadri district. Police found a hidden box in the driver’s cabin in which 18 small packets of durg were concealed. Both the arrested accused were identified as Ramkishan and Satyanarian.

Cases under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act were registered against them and further investigation is underway.
