The Punjab State Women’s Commission will hold a meeting with DGP Punjab to chalk out a comprehensive strategy to thwart the menace of cheating by NRIs Grooms.
Chairperson of Punjab State Women’s Commission, Ms. Manisha Gulati disclosed this here today after a meeting with ADGP (NRI Affairs) Mr. A.S. Rai to discuss the issue of cheating of girls by NRI grooms in the state. She stated that the Commission had received a large number of complaints from girls regarding cheating by NRI Grooms throughout the state in last few days.
Ms. Gulati said that the girls of the state are being exploited financially, physically and mentally by NRI Grooms and this menace should be tackle iron handedly. She said that the other officers of the NRI wing should also be present in the meeting with DGP so that a detailed blueprint could be drawn up to expedite the handling of such cases.
