Women Hockey team met Home Minister Sh Anil Vij at his office today

Chandigarh, August 11- Haryana’s Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, today, met the Women Hockey players of India who had come to his office to meet the team members.

These women players included, team captain Rani Rampal, Monica, Nisha, Navneet Kaur, Navjot Kaur, Uday, Sharmila and Neha. Apart from this, MLA Ramkaran Kala who accompanied the team, was also present.

On this occasion, Sh. Vij welcomed the players with shawls and sweets.

On this occasion, he said that in sports one team wins and the other losses, it does not matter in the game, what matters is how strongly the player has played and the performance of the player.

He said that these hockey players displayed their stamina, technique, scientific sense in the matches. He said that they could not win the match but they have done the work of uniting the whole country.  He said that Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi also evinced interest in the game of hockey and also encouraged a player who had got injured during the match.

Sh. Vij said that Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi values sports and that is why he started ‘Khelo India’ programme so that good players can be prepared.

Expressing his gratitude to the Chief Minister, he said that ‘I also express my gratitude to the Chief Minister who has announced Rs 50 lakh each to these hockey players’.
