Shri Bandaru Dattatreya said that the festival of Raksha Bandhan gives the message of uniting religion, society and nation along with sister-brother affection and family relationships.

Chandigarh, August 22 2021 Haryana Governor Mr Bandaru Dattatraya on Sunday said the festival of Raksha Bandhan gives the message of strengthening not only the relationship between sisters and brothers along with family ties and traditions but also of uniting the society and the nation. Therefore, we all should take a pledge to further strengthen national unity on this holy festival.
Shri Bandaru Dattatreya was congratulating the sisters who had come to tie ‘Rakhi’ to him at Raj Bhavan here. The Governor, while conveying his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, prayed for prosperity, happiness and progress of all.
Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Kamlesh Dhanda, Secretary to Governor Shri Atul Dwivedi, Brahma Kumari Sister Uttara, specially abled children of Neha ‘She Foundation,’ girl students of the Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 19, Panchkula, and women employees of Raj Bhavan were also present along with other officers were also present on the occasion. The Governor interacted with the children and inspired them to move forward in life. Minister Smt. Kamlesh Dhanda, all other sisters tied ‘Rakhi’ on the wrist of Governor Shri Dattatraya and offered him sweets.
Shri Dattatreya said that according to mythological epics, Raksha Bandhan has special significance. This festival is celebrated with great pomp all over India. This festival inspires women to be empowered. It also inspires us to strengthen relationships and protect women. Therefore, we all should work for the protection of the country, religion and society by increasing mutual brotherhood among ourselves.
The Governor asked the students present to move forward with full commitment and achieve their goals in their lives. He said that today girls are marching ahead in every walk of life. The daughters and women of the country have been empowered by the meaningful efforts like ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ initiated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Governor Shri Dattatreya said the presence of women brings good omen. Therefore women are the pride of the country. Expressing happiness over the function organized on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan festival, he said that today he is feeling to be with his own family. He is happy that this festival is being celebrated so proudly.
He has also appealed that everyone should celebrate all festivals along with Raksha Bandhan with full devotion and joy. This will further enrich our culture and the spirit of mutual harmony and brotherhood will increase in the society.
