AAP’s counter-attack against Badals
Said, Badals were reaping, what they had sown
Chandigarh, September 2 2021
“The Badal family should not blame the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers for the ongoing protests against the BJP as well as the Akali Dal Badal over the anti-agriculture black laws, but should admit their mistake in front of the farmers in supporting the Agriculture Ordinance and Bills.” Reacting this, the AAP Punjab MLA and Youth Wing state president Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia should refrain from making nonsensical statements against the AAP; as the common people and the farmers of Punjab are demanding answers from the Badal family and other Akali leaders for supporting the black laws and blaming the Aam Aadmi Party for the protests in the absence of answers is a ploy to evade the questions of the people.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters here on Thursday, Meet Hayer while questioning the former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Majithia said, “The ordinance brought by the Centre for Agriculture Laws was signed by Harsimrat Kaur Badal as the Cabinet Minister, did the AAP do that too? Are the AAP volunteers responsible for the video released by former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in favor of agriculture laws? Is the AAP also responsible for the silence that Parkash Singh Badal has maintained till date against black farm laws after that video? In the all-party meeting on agriculture laws, the way you (Sukhbir Badal) were strongly advocating for agriculture laws, did you do it at the behest of the AAP? Therefore, instead of blaming the AAP, the Badal family should dare to face these questions of the people.”
Meet Hayer further said the people of Punjab were well aware of which parties and which politicians were responsible for the black agriculture laws. Therefore, the Badal family should get rid of the idea that the people of Punjab are with them and protests were done by the Aam Aadmi Party. He alleged that during the last Badal government, the mafia had looted and beaten the people of Punjab for 10 years. Hayer said the Badal family had also been accused for desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and playing the role of General Dyer for the Behbal Kalan shooting. “The people of Punjab have not forgotten the mafia rule of the Badals even today. By signing the Agriculture Ordinances, the Badal family has added insult to injury; the cost of which is being borne by the people,” he added.
The AAP leader said that Sukhbir Singh Badal and the Akali Dal were reaping what they had sown. Hayer said the Badals had betrayed the farmers in the matter of black agriculture laws, due to which the Badal Dal was being opposed in Moga along with villages and towns today. He said the Badal family had committed heinous crimes in the intoxication of power, although they were ousted from power in 2017 by the people; the legal punishment that the Badal family deserved, could not be meted out to this day as Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been the shield of the Badal family from the very beginning. Meet Hayer said with the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, Sukhbir Singh Badal would be held accountable for the looting of Punjab.
