Navjot Sidhu must clarify with whom he stands, either Punjab or corrupt ministers: Kultar Sandhwan
AAP to gherao residences of these ministers if no immediate action is taken against them: Meet Hayer
Chandigarh, July 30 2021
Keeping their firm stand against the corruption and direct involvement of the ministers of the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress government in various scams and embezzlements, a delegation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab will meet the Governor of Punjab next week, to raise their demand for an immediate action against these ministers. In a statement issued here on Friday, AAP MLA and Kisan Wing state president Kultar Singh Sandhwan and Youth Wing state president and MLA Meet Hayer said the newly appointed Punjab Congress chief Navjot Sidhu must clarify with whom he stands; either Punjab or the corrupt ministers.
They said a delegation of the AAP MLAs and leaders will meet the Governor under the leadership of Leader of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema, demanding the dismissal of ministers Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, Sunder Sham Arora and Sadhu Singh Dharamsot from the Cabinet. The leaders further said if no immediate action will be taken against these ministers, then the Aam Aadmi Party will wage a struggle and gherao their residences.
Taking a dig at the Captain government, the AAP leaders said the matter related to Punjab Sports Minister Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi of twice getting compensation on the acquired land at Mohan Ke Utaar village on Ferozepur-Fazilka road has now been public; but why Captain Amarinder Singh and Navjot Sidhu are still shielding him. “Even, Sunil Jakhar’s complaint to Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi against Rana Sodhi has not only proved Sodhi, a land mafia but also confirmed the allegations leveled by the AAP from the very beginning,” they added.
Targeting Industries Minister Sunder Sham Arora for his links with Varinder Singh Dhoot, a former naib tehsildar booked by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in a disproportionate assets case; Kultar Singh Sandhwan said, “Minister Arora should clarify his relationship with the corrupt Naib Tehsildar Dhoot and explain why he is protecting him in corruption cases. The Minister should respond to the collusion between him and Dhoot in different properties along with multi-crore JCT land scam and industrial plot allotment scam. We have good enough proof against him which will be put in front of the media and the Governor.”
Meet Hayer said on the other hand the Congress government was trying to save its minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, who had squandered crores of rupees from the post-matric scholarship scheme of Dalit students. “If minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot who was given a clean chit by a committee of three IAS officers, is really innocent; then why is the Captain government running to face the CBI probe?” he said.
