State treasury under threat with the govt remote-controlled by mafia: Principal Budhram

Chandigarh, August 22

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab senior leaders Principal Budhram, Meet Hayer, Rupinder Kaur Ruby, Jai Krishan Singh Rouri and Master Baldev Singh (all MLAs) have demanded Chief Minister Amarinder Singh’s resignation over the Rs 100 crore tax evasion scam in the Excise and Taxation Department.

In a joint statement issued from party headquarters on Saturday, the AAP MLAs questioned the competence of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, alleging though the steering wheel of the Congress government was in the hands of Amarinder Singh but was being  remote-controlled  by the mafia and corrupt people calling the shots in the state.

Principal Budhram and Meet Hayer said though the state Excise and Taxation Department had been retained by the Chief Minister himself but had given a free run to the gang leaders knee-deep in corruption in the department.

The AAP leaders said the Chief Minister, in connivance with the corrupt officers and brokers in the department, the exchequer worth more than one crore had been open to ‘loot’, seeking a time-bound probe into the scam under the watch of a sitting judge of the High Court.

Rupinder Kaur Ruby, Jai Krishan Singh Rouri and Master Baldev Singh on the occasion said that the typical ‘Royal’ lifestyle of CM Amarinder Singh and his alleged links with the Mafia lords had proved him as a weak and worthless chief minister of the country, saying he should step down as the Chief Minister on moral grounds.
