Health and Family Welfare Minister Punjab Dr. Balbir Singh on Saturday while conducting surprise visit at the district hospital said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Maan will soon place Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support ambulances in government hospitals after providing free medicines.
On this occasion, the health minister interacted with the patients to inspect the free medicines available in the government hospitals at the ground level, where the patients expressed satisfaction and told that now they are getting all the medicines free of cost in the district hospital.
Dr. Balbir Singh said that according to the survey conducted by AIIMS, the patients suffering from serious diseases have to take loans for their treatment, for which the Punjab government, keeping these facts in mind, has provided free medicines and ultrasound facility for only Rs 200 in the empanelled hospitals. Apart from this, tertiary health services are being provided completely free of cost to the patient under Mukhya Mantri Sehat Bima Yojna.
Giving information about the modernization of medical colleges, he said that the state government has made extensive improvements in all the medical colleges and in the next phase, the treatment of deadly diseases like heart diseases along with ventilators would also be provided at the district hospitals.
On this occasion, a patient brought to the notice of the health minister that facility of test services by Krsnaa lab at the hospital only be provided till 2 PM, he strictly ordered that these labs will work 24×7 hours in the district hospitals with immediate effect and if there is any complaint in this regard again. If so, appropriate action will be taken against them.
Revealing the facts of the success of Aam Aadmi Clinics, he said that nearly 1 crore citizens in the state have received their treatment from these clinics, with which free treatment worth about 1 thousand crore rupees on medicines and tests has been provided to the needy patients. Which is a big achievement of Punjab government.
On this occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Pooja Sial Grewal, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Tarsem Singh and senior officials of the health department were present.
