Also visits DH Udhampur, reviews covid control measures
JAMMU/UDHAMPUR, MAY 27, 2021: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, today conducted an extensive tour of different Covid care centres of Jammu and Udhampur districts to review various Covid control measures in these twin districts besides he inspected and took a review of overall functioning of District Hospital Udhampur.
During his visit, Advisor Bhatnagar inspected the facilities at Covid Wellness Centre at Youth Hostel Nagrota and the Covid test centre there and directed that facilities for isolation monitoring and treatment be properly maintained He noted that oxygen concentrators were also available and a medical team was deputed.
The Advisor also visited newly established Panchayat Covid centre at Panjgrain, Nagrota and reviewed the arrangements put in place there.He asked them to keep oxygen available for at least one bed at the centre besides providing equipment like oxymeter etc as stipulated
Meanwhile, Advisor Bhatnagar also visited PHC Tikri and examined the functioning of the health centre which is providing non Covid services.
During the visit to PHC, Tikri, Advisor Bhatnagar interacted with Chairman BDC Tikri, Sarpanch and other PRI members. The Advisor while interacting with them assured them all possible help in view of covid-19 and in overall development of the area
Later on, the Advisor visited COVID designated District Hospital Udhampur and took stock of arrangements put in place in view of the Pandemic Covid-19.
Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib, SSP, Sargun Shukla, President Municipal Council Udhampur, Dr. Jogeshwar Gupta, Chief Medical Officer, Dr K C Dogra, Medical Superintendent, Dr Vijay Raina and other officers were accompanying the Advisor. During the visit, Advisor Bhatnagar inspected different sections of the hospital including COVID control room , Tele consultancy services ,triage centre , Diagnostic services vaccination centre etc and took stock of of the status of facilities and protocols of treatment .
During the visit, the Advisor also visited oxygen generation plant site and inspected ongoing construction works there. He asked the executing agencies to expedite the work
Advisor Bhatnagar asked the officers to ensure strict adherence to all preventive protocols and SOPs regarding infection control while performing their duties for their safety as well as patients.
Advisor Bhatnagar also enquired about the status of vaccination, testing, contact tracing, follow up of isolated patients at home, availability of bed capacity at designated centers during the visit.
Advisor Bhatnagar stressed upon the health department to evolve an effective strategy for early detection of COVID cases and timely treatment so that disease can be prevented from becoming severe He instructed the concerned officers to upscale the vaccination process and urged the people to get vaccinated at designated Centes to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the visit to hospital, the Advisor also interacted with Doctors, and staff He appreciated the doctors and other para medical staff for their exemplary work during these tough times.
Advisor Bhatnagar also visited Panchayat Covid Care Centre Mand East and reviewed the facilities there.He interacted with the PRI functionaries there who highlighted various local issues with him. The Advisor assured them that the issues and concerns raised by them will be redressed on priority.
