Mann, Cheema and Jarnail Singh attack CM in fight over oximeter

Patiala, 4 September 2020
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President and Member Parliament Bhagwant Mann has termed the friendship between Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and his Pakistani girlfriend Arusa Alam as a threat to national security and asked the Indian Ministry of External Affairs about the status of Arusa Alam’s Indian visa. .
Bhagwant Mann along with the Leader of the Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema and Jarnail Singh, in-charge of Punjab affairs, interacted with media here on Friday.
Bhagwant Mann retaliated against the Chief Minister on the issue of Arusa Alam and termed the Punjab government as a failure in controlling the Corona epidemic as compared to the Kejriwal government in Delhi.
Bhagwant Mann said that AAP National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had launched an Oximeter campaign at the national level including Punjab to contribute in the war against Corona.
Instead of thanking or seeking support from AAP, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has started calling the Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal traitors. This attitude and behavior of Amarinder Singh is absurd, unnecessary and points out at his confused state of mind.
Bhagwant Mann said that at first the friendship between Raja Amarinder Singh and his Pakistani lady friend Arusa Alam was considered private and as such refrained from commenting on it but now this friendship has become a threat to the security of the country about which the Union Ministry of External Affairs and Home Affairs should take notice. The Union Government should make public the status of Indian visa of Pakistani journalist Arusa Alam, who has been staying at the Chief Minister’s residence for a long time. He also sought explanation on which visa Arusa Alam and her relatives are staying unimpeded at Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Siswan Farmhouse? Arusa Alam, on the other hand, is a Pakistani journalist who specializes in military affairs and there are rumours of her links with the ISI. “I will raise this question in Parliament as well,” Mann said.
Bhagwant Mann said that neither the Aam Aadmi Party nor Arvind Kejriwal needed to get a certificate of patriotism from those whose great-grandfathers were backing the British.
Accusing the Chief Minister of living in seclusion for the last three and a half years, Bhagwant Mann said that if the Raja leaves his farm house and goes to the people and government hospitals, he will come to know about the actual reality due to which people of Punjab are cooperating  the health department teams in corona tests?
Mann told the Chief Minister that the government should take immediate steps to restore the confidence of the people in the government and government hospitals as Kejriwal has done in Delhi.
While Jarnail Singh briefed about the victory on Corona in Delhi and the Oximeter campaign in Punjab, Harpal Singh Cheema slammed the Chief Minister for its failure to tackle the epidemic.
