The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Youth Wing co-president Anmol Gagan Mann visited mining spots with deep pits dug by the mining mafia in Anandpur Sahib area on Tuesday. After reaching the site of the struggle of the locals against the mining mafia in the village of Ailgran, Anmol Gagan Mann visited the villages of Harsa Bela, Dulchi Patti, Bhallan, Sainsowal and Nangran, where mining was done illegally under patronage of the government. On the occasion, she said that mafia rule was going on in Punjab at present and Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, being power drunk, did not see anything. She said that before coming to power Captain Amarinder Singh had promised the people to end all forms of mafias in Punjab by holding Sri Gutka Sahib in his hands but after coming to power, he reneged on all his promises.
She further said that the mining mafia had dug 100-100 feet deep pits but the local administration was asleep and could not see anything. She said that whenever it was opposed by the locals, they were attacked by goons kept by the mafia. “We arrived here today on the invitation of the locals and saw how the mining mafia was flourishing in the area. Deep pits were dug and illegal mining is rampant with the help of the government,” she said. The AAP leader further said that farmers’ stubble burning could be seen through the satellite and notices were issued by the administration, but when people close to the government run such mafias, they could not be seen by the authorities. She said that the mafia rule would be eradicated from the state after the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government.
