Executive agency appointed for Shri Krishna Ayush University to be set up in Kurukshetra

A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal

Shri Krishna Ayush University to be set up in Haryana to be the first Ayush University in the country

 

Chandigarh, April 1: In a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, approval was given to appoint Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) as the Executive Agency for the construction work of Shri Krishna Ayush University to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 500 crore. This will be the first AYUSH University in the country.

        While directing the officers concerned, the Chief Secretary said that apart from the Project Management Consultation, a team should also be constituted at the Department level, which would study the Detailed Project Report (DPR) prepared by the Project Management Consultancy, so that the possible problems could be identified well in time and all the required approvals can be obtained within stipulated time period.

        The Chief Secretary was apprised that the campus of Shri Krishna Ayush University would be built on 102 acres of land in Fathupur village, Kurukshetra. This University will have 14 Postgraduate Departments each for 300 bedded Ayurveda Hospital, 175 bedded Unani Hospital and 175 bedded Siddha Hospital. In addition, there will be 13 Postgraduate Departments for a 75-bedded Homoeopathic Hospital. Besides this, a Yoga and Naturopathy hospital having a capacity of 30 beds each will also be set up in the University campus.

It was informed in the meeting that CPSU would undertake planning, design, construction, furniture, equipment, information technology and maintenance work of this University.

        It was further informed that as the Government of India has brought  Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathic, Yoga and Naturopathy together under the aegis of the Department of AYUSH, now this AYUSH University to be set up in Haryana would be the first University in the country, which would be imparting education in these five specialties.

        Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Sh. P. K Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Sh. T.V.S.N Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health and Engineering Department, Sh. A.K Singh and Director General, AYUSH Department, Sh. Saket Kumar and other officers also remained present on this occasion.
