Awards dedicated to Dr.  Surjit Patar and Dr.  Manjit Singh Kang announced during an event at PAU

The book “Guru Nanak Bani Vich Kudrat” written by Dr. Balwinder Singh Lakhewali was also  dedicated to Dr. Surjit Patar

Society for Conservation and Healing of Environment (SOCH), a social service organization, announced the awards dedicated to renowned Punjabi poet and writer Dr. Surjit Patar and eminent agricultural scientist and former Vice Chancellor of PAU, Dr. Manjit Singh Kang, during a function organized at Shri Gurdwara Sahib located at PAU. On this occasion, reminiscing the memories associated with Dr. Patar and Dr. Kang, tributes were also paid to them, who were the advisors of the NGO SOCH.  Apart from this, the book “Guru Nanak Bani Vich Kudarat” written by Dr. Balwinder Singh Lakhewali, head of the NGO, was also dedicated to Dr. Patar.
Today’s event started after the recitation of Shri Sukhmani Sahib.  After this, after the kirtan, all the dignitaries present at the function paid tribute to Dr. Patar and Dr. Kang.
Dr. Balwinder Singh Lakhewali recalled the memories associated with Dr. Patar and Dr. Kang, due to whose inspiration, many public works are being done by the NGO along with environmental protection.
Film actor Malker Singh Roni mentioned personalities like Dr. Patar and Dr. Kang and said that such people are rarely born in the world.  Dr. Surjit Patar’s younger brother Upkar Singh said that he was very impressed by Dr. Patar’s writings and the way he lived life.  The reason for which was not his younger brother, but the inspiration he got from him.
Dr. Ranjit Singh Tabar recalled the contribution of Dr. Kang in the field of agriculture, who worked to advance the agriculture of Punjab to the level of America.  Meanwhile, he spoke about Dr. Patar’s contribution to the field of literature and his journey from Dr. Randhawa till now.
While film actor Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi got emotional and said that Dr. Patar’s writings will always be present in us.  However, their separation will not make up for the huge loss in the field of literature.
Meanwhile, Saint Baba Gurmeet Singh ji mentioned the relationship between nature and Baba Nanak, during which Dr. Surjit Patar’s family members including Dr. Balwinder Singh Lakhewali’s book “Guru Nanak Bani Vich Kudarat” was dedicated to Dr. Patar.  During which film actor Gurpreet Ghuggi and Dr. Gurpreet Wander, principal of DMC Hospital and Medical College, were honored by presenting siropa, who will play the role of mentors of the NGO from today.
While in the end, the Zonal Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Zone-D Jasdev Singh Sekhon thanked all the personalities who participated in the event.
