Chandigarh, May 16 , 2021
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Jagraon and Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Sarvjit Kaur Manuke said that the law and order situation in the state under Captain Amarinder Singh’s rule had deteriorated. She said that the Captain government had lost its credibility due to the heinous incidents taking place every day and the people no longer have any faith in Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. In a statement issued on Sunday, Sarvjit Kaur Manuke said that on the one hand the Covid-19 pandemic had worsened the situation in Punjab and on the other hand, the law and order situation was deteriorating.
She said that mafia rule was rampant everywhere in the state. Manuke said that in Jagraon, Ludhiana district, police personnel were attacked by anti-social elements in which two ASIs of Punjab Police were killed. “This attack proves that the Captain government is failing on every front,” she added. Paying homage to ASI Bhagwan Singh and ASI Dalwinder Singh who were martyred in the attack, Manuke said that mafia rule had spread in Punjab, which had devastated the peace and harmony of the state. She demanded Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to provide financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to the families of the martyred police personnel and government jobs to each family member.
The AAP leader further said that the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress government had rehabilitated the mafia rule in Punjab and today the morale of the anti-social elements was so high that they were killing police personnel. She said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and his ministers had failed to deal with the Covid pandemic and maintain law and order in the state. Lashing out at Captain Amarinder Singh, Manuke said, “Such a government has no right to remain in power in the state. Captain Amarinder Singh, the Home Minister and Chief Minister of the state, should resign immediately.”
