Bal Mahotsav historic with 5 lakh participation, says Krishan Dhull
Chandigarh, January 22:- Addressing press conference regarding achievements of Bal Mahotsav organized online at State Level by Haryana State Council for Child Welfare, Honorary General Secretary of HSCCW, Krishan Dhull said that the event was historic as about 5 lakh participants have participated. The enthusiastic participation of 3.5 lakh girls and 1.5 lakh boys in 23 competitions in 73 categories have shown the relevance of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign. Notably about one crore people attended this event and encouraged the participants through various social media platforms.
Amid COVID-19 pandemic, about 4.35 lakh entries of children had registered during the online celebration of Bal Mahotsav. At district level this event was conducted from October 10, 2020 to November 10, 2020 through various competitions organized in all the districts of the state. Prizes of about Rs 22 lakh were distributed to more than 13,000 winners at district level in the state. At the state level, prizes of about Rs 40 lakh will be distributed among 592 winners. He said that the Bal Mahotsav organized online at State Level has become a historic event. Not only across the country but all over the world, this event has been considered as the biggest event held online during Covid-19 pandemic, he added.
Efforts are on to get it recorded in Limca Book, Guinness Book and Asia Book of Records. Dhull said that Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala inaugurated this state level programme as chief guest. After this, all the Union Ministers and Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of State attended this event. They extended their blessings and guidance to the children.
On the occasion of culmination of this online state level event, the Governor, Satyadeo Narain Arya who is holding the portfolio of president of HSCCW shared his valuable views with the children. Arya extended his wishes to the Council for organizing such a commendable event. He said that the chief guests who attended this Bal Mahotsav have announced to give about Rs 70 lakh from the voluntary fund.
He said that the Mini Bal Bhavan will be constructed at an estimated cost of about Rs 2.25 crore. In this manner, the council have announced Rs 3 crore for child welfare activities which has become a great achievement. About 56 artists including Bollywood, Punjabi, Haryanvi, international players, UPSC toppers and other dignitaries inspired the children to participate in this event. Krishna Dhull said that Haryana State Council for Child Welfare is offering a good platform to the children to enhance their talent. Availing this platform, the children have been refining their skills and talent.
