Balram Talab makes farmer Barnu self-dependent

Barnu Kol, a farmer of Jamudi village of Jaithari block of Anuppur district, has got a Balram pond constructed in his field of one hectare area under the scheme of Farmer’s Welfare and Agriculture Development Department. With irrigation facilities now made available to him, Barnu has now started cultivating rabi and summer crops wheat, gram and vegetables in addition to kharif crops. He is generating an additional income of Rs 50 to 55 thousand per year. Balram Talab has made him self-dependent.
Farmer Barnu has also started fish farming in Balram pond. Due to this, he is generating an income of about Rs 50 thousand per year. Taking advantage of the scheme of Agriculture Department, Farmer Barnu has given a new look to his farming by taking advantage of departmental demonstrations and trainings and adopting new techniques.
Barnu has cultivated fragrant paddy in Kharif year 2021-22 in his 1.5 acres of land by S.R.I. method. Barnu has made remarkable achievements in the field of agriculture and horticulture. Paddy, wheat and vegetables are paving the way for the advancement of their livelihood.Taking inspiration from Barnu, the local people are increasing their income by using new technology in their agricultural land.
