Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Youth Wing President and MLA Meet Hayer has blamed Chief Minister Amarinder Singh for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state as he also holds the Home Ministry portfolio.
“There is no law and order worth the name in the state and there is jungle rule everywhere” Hayer said in a statement from party headquarters on Tuesday.
He alleged that the top leaders of the ruling Congress were illegally possessing weapons, which was corroborated with the recovery of ammunition from the Congress leader of Bathinda district.
The AAP leader said, with the law and order machinery going for a toss, the morale of the criminals active in the state was upbeat with the police administration maintaining a low profile, citing the blind murder of a police officer in the border district of Tarn Taran.
The youth leader expressed his shock and surprise at the collapse of the law, saying that on the one hand gangsters and anti-national elements lodged in Punjab jails were carrying out their nefarious criminal activities with impunity, on the other Punjab government was extending protection to them.
Meet Hayer said that Captain Amarinder Singh, being the Home Minister of Punjab, should own responsibility over the crippling law and order in the state, should step down immediately.
