Chandigarh, October 23
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader and Barnala MLA Meet Hayer on Friday demanded that chief minister Captain Amarinder should stop pedalling lies about the sham Bills passed in the specially convened Vidhan Sabha session, saying that he (CM) should take up the issue prime minister Narendra Modi to ensure MSP on crops.
In a statement from party headquarters on Friday Meet Hayer said the Congress leaders, including the chief minister were indulging in celebrations and distributing ‘ladoos’ terming it an achievement of the government, saying it was mere a ploy of the government to mislead the people of Punjab, especially the farmers.
He accused the chief minister of pedalling lies about getting the Bills passed by the Assembly by indulging in false propaganda to get them approved from the President, saying that it was a mere bravado to earn farmers’ favours. He said that he should indulge himself in hoodwinking the people any more as they had been aware of its political gimmickry.
Meet Hayer said that if he (CM ) had an iota of love for the farmers who were fighting a big battle for their survival, he should use his bonhomie with Narendra Modi for the cause of the farmers to have reversed the anti-farmer black laws.
The AAL MLA said that in the event of the Modi government defaulting on the MSP, the Amarinder Singh government should ensure procurement of crops at the MSP, which was the only way forward to protect the ‘annaadata’ from perishing.
