Urges PRI members to provide suitable land for construction of new houses for affected families
KARGIL, AUGUST 25, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today chaired a review meeting with regard to the status of relief and rehabilitation measures at Khawos village due to the recent flash floods.
Executive Councilor for Works Aga Syed Abbas Razvi, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Assistant Commisioner Revenue (ACR) Abdul Gaffar Zargar, Assistant Commisioner Development (ACD) Ghulam Muhammad, Tehsildar Tai Suru Sajjad Hussain, besides the Nambardar and Sarpanch of Khawos village were present during the meeting.
The CEC inquired from the concerned officers about the status of the restoration works of the 8 houses at Khawos village that were damaged during the recent floods. He said that in view of the coming winter months the familities which are presently accommodated in government buildings should be given proper facilities.
The CEC further said that land needs to be identified for the construction of new houses, as the affected families are not willing to stay at the earlier locations due to apprehension of floods in future, adding he urged the village representatives to provide land in this regard.
CEC Khan asked the PRI members to identify suitable land for construction of new houses for the affected families and inform about the same to the Executive Councilor Works and Tehsildar Tai Suru so as to farme a plan for the construction of the houses and rehabilitation of the families before the onset of winters. He also suggested the concerned to explore ways to accommodate the displaced families within the village with other families if their new houses are not constructed before winters.
