Ladakh June 15 2021 The Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC, Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, visited his constituency recently where the villagers of Neyrags and Skumpata villages raised the issue of re-alignment of road connectivity under the NPD (Nimo-Padum-Darcha) road that crosses through Skumpata and Neyrags villages of Singay Lalok region. The villagers requested to construct the road bypassing Neyrags and Skumpata for the benefit of both the villages in the future.
Taking note of the issues, CEC Tashi Gyalson chaired a meeting with the officials of Project Vijayak, Border Roads Organisation, at the Council Secretariat Leh today. Commander, 16 Vijayak, D.N Dahat, Executive Engineer, Project Vijayak, B. Kishan, BDC Chairperson Singay Lalok, Stanzin Yangdol, and concerned village representatives led by Sarpanch and Nambardars of the concerned villages of the Singay Lalok region. SDM Khaltsi, Tanveer Ahmed, and Xen PWD Khaltsi, and Ghulam Nabi attended the meeting virtually.
CEC Gyalson highlighted the issues and demands of the villagers, including the need for a bridge at Sungru-Dho crossing the road towards Skumpata from Neyrags village. The village representatives informed the meeting that the villagers of Skumpata and Neyrags unanimously proposed the road connectivity of NPD in the said direction. They further stated that this would benefit the residents of Singay Lalok, especially the villages of Skumpata and Neyrags.
Commander Dahat updated CEC Gyalson on the progress of the said road construction in the region and stated that he would discuss the concern issues with their higher officials soon. He also put forth his suggestions on the said road connectivity and assured full assistance from BRO in keeping the road connectivity beneficial for most of the villages.
CEC Gyalson appreciated the efforts made by Border Roads Organization (BRO) and sought further support in timely executing the required strategic road constructions in the region.
