KARGIL SEPTEMBER 07, 2020: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad reviewed the pace of progress on the up gradation to the intermediate lane of Kargil Zanskar National Highway NH-301 in meeting of the concerned officers at Council Secretariat here today.
Executive Councillor for Works Mubarak Shah Nagvi, Executive Councillor for Zanskar Affairs Er Phunsog Tashi, District Superintending Engineer PWD Kargil Er Ved Prakash, Executive Engineer Suru Valley Division Shabir Hussain, Executive Engineer PWD Division Zanskar Murtaza Hyder Ali besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
During the course of the meeting the officers concerned through a detailed powerpoint presentation apprised the CEC about the status of completed, ongoing as well as the approved works under the Action Plan 2020-2021.
The meeting was informed that out of package 1 to 8, under package 6 to 9 up gradation of around 100 kilometers road stretch from KM 87 to 196.250 has already been sanctioned at a total cost of Rs 650.12 crores, tendering process has also been completed and work will be started soon.
As regards to the construction of bridges, the officers concerned informed the CEC that the construction of 5 M Span bridges have been sanctioned at a total cost of Rs 60.62 crores.
Besides roads, with the completion of the tendering process construction of the bridges shall also kick start soon, the officers added.
While divulging details about the ongoing works the meeting was informed that different nature of works including construction of steel plate girder Bridge, road safety measures, IRQP and periodical renewal of road are presently going on at a cost of Rs 42.208 crores.
The meeting was further informed that projects worth Rs 66.45 crores have been sanctioned under the Action Plan 2020-2021 which include among other projects construction of surface road tunnel in avalanche zone between KM 93 to 94.
The CEC directed the officers concerned to take all adequate measures to ensure completion of the projects well within the stipulated timelines.
