CEC reviews developmental activities of Silmo Constituency
KARGIL JANUARY 23, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan who is also the Councilor of Silmo Constituency convened a meeting to review the status of developmental activities of the constituency during the financial year 2020-21 under CAPEX Budget, SDP and other allied schemes.
The meeting was attended by Project Officer Wage Employment (ACD) Kargil, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Executive Engineers of R&B, REW, Irrigation and Flood Control, PHE, PDD, STD, KDA, BDO Sodh besides other concerned officers.
During the course of the meeting, officers concerned briefed the CEC about the status of different activities related to Silmoo constituency undertaken by the departments.
The CEC expressed satisfaction over the pace of works and stressed to complete the pending works on priority.
Feroz Khan also directed the Executive Engineer PDD to take adequate measures to connect all villages in Silmoo constituency with Chutuk and Dha hydel projects by July this summer and also directed to improve the LT lines within the peripheries of the villages.
The Executive Engineer PDD projected that funds under the district plan for PDD needs to be increased up to 6-7 crores to cover up the works.
Moreover, regarding the Horticulture sector, Khan directed to create area specific schemes and also suggested to design new schemes and strategies for the farmers of the constituency and said that the repetition of the schemes should be avoided.
Regarding the Agriculture activities the CEC was briefed about different schemes to improve the agriculture practices in the area. He was also briefed about the role of Self Help Groups (SHGs) in agriculture production of the area.
