CEC reviews functioning of health department Kargil

Kargil, November 13:
Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today chaired a meeting with the officers and officials of Health Department Kargil to review the functioning and activities of the department in Kargil.
The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, MS District Hospital, Dr Kacho Liyaqat Khan, Deputy CMO Kargil, Dr Mohd Abass, BMOs, and other concerned officers and officials of the department.
The meeting held a detailed discussion on the status of the health care services, various schemes, undergoing projects, developmental works etc. of the department.
During the meeting, financial status of different schemes like RCH Flexible Pool, Mission Flexible Pool, Immunization, NCD etc. were discussed.
It was apprised that 2,149.53 lakhs out of 2,926.57 lakhs allocated for various schemes have been spent up to ending October 2023. Efficient fund utilization remains a key focus in ongoing initiatives.
Status of infrastructure under National Health Mission (NHM) was also discussed. The CEC was informed about the amount approved and the expenditure on different works under the NHM.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on block-wise work capital expenditure taken place, addressing various considerations. Project updates from each block were discussed.
During the meeting, the CEC took assessment of the physical and financial progress report and action plan FY 2023-24 under SDP.
The CEC also took assessment of winter stock of drugs and medicines in the district.
The meeting also discussed the dearth of doctors in the district.
The CEC assured efficient fund utilization, emphasizing a proper allocation for effective healthcare solutions in the district.
During the meeting, he appreciated efforts of the health department and urged its officials to contribute to further push the health sector in the region.
He also reiterated the commitment of the LAHDC Kargil to support health department’s initiatives in the district.
