Chandigarh August 21: Haryana Power and New & Renewable Energy Minister, Mr. Ranjit Singh said that the present Central Government has resolved many major national issues and he is hopeful that soon the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) issue will too be amicably resolved.  He said that now this matter is in the final stages and it is expected that Haryana will be getting its share of water soon.

While interacting with the media persons, the Minister said that to resolve the SYL issue mutually, recently a meeting was held between Union Jal Shakti Minister, Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal and Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh and both the Chief Ministers have expressed their views on this subject.

Mr. Ranjit Singh said that water is a national resource and no one can stop it. He said that Supreme Court’s verdict will be final. The Punjab Government should respect the Supreme Court’s decision and give Haryana its legitimate share of water.

The Minister said that during the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha Session commencing from August 26, 2020, matters pertaining to state and public interest will be discussed and suggestions of opposition will also be considered.

He said that many effective schemes have been implemented in the public interest by the State Government, which is yielding commendable results. Following the motto of ‘Sabka Sath-Sabka Vikas’, various development works are being carried out equally in every region of Haryana without discrimination.

Mr. Ranjit Singh said that the recovery rate in India has increased considerably compared to other countries and in Haryana it is around 90 percent.

Earlier, the Minister also heard grievances of common people and directed the officers to resolve them on the spot. He said that all departments should establish mutual coordination and dispose off the grievances on priority basis.

He said that the State Government is committed to facilitate people and ensure that last person in the line receives the benefit of all welfare schemes. He said that it should also be ensured that no eligible person is deprived of the benefits of these schemes.
