CET aspirants must ensure advance booking of Haryana Roadways buses: Navdeep Singh Virk

Facility of advance booking counters have been made at every roadways depot

Haryana Staff Selection Commission Chairman and Principal Secretary Transport hold press conference on Common Eligibility Test

Chandigarh, November 3 –Haryana Principal Secretary Transport, Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk said that to avail free travel facility in Haryana Roadways for Common Eligibility Test (CET) examination, the candidates should ensure advance booking of buses. They will not face any problem while traveling to examination centres. The booking of buses is being done at the booking counters set up at each bus depot in the state. Sh. Virk was responding to the questions raised by media persons during a press conference held at Haryana Niwas here today.

Sh. Virk said that the candidate can get advance booking done by visiting the booking counter himself or any other family member can get it done. He said that most of the centres of CET have been set up in urban areas. Arrangement for normal buses and shuttle service has also been made to facilitate the candidates to the exam centres.

Another bus will be plied immediately after break down

Sh. Virk further said that the Roadways Department has also arranged additional buses for the CET exam. In case of breakdown of any bus, another bus will be plied immediately. The timing of the examination released by the Commission has already been conveyed to the officers and employees of the roadways.

Haryana Roadways made arrangement of buses according to the number of aspirants

Replying to a question, Sh. Virk said that Haryana Roadways has made complete arrangement of roadways buses for more than 11 lakh aspirants. In addition to Haryana Roadways buses, private school buses and buses with permit have also been arranged. He informed that buses plying on 57 routes will take less than 2 hours while other buses plying on 56 routes will take more than 2 hours.

Advance technology will be used- Bhopal Singh

Replying to a question, Haryana Staff Selection Commission Chairman, Sh. Bhopal Singh Khadri said that the Common Eligibility Test is being conducted by the National Testing Agency. All the examination centres will be video graphed during the exam. All the examination centres will be monitored through CCTV. Biometric attendance will be marked. Besides this, the identity of the candidates will be verified using iris scan technology.

General category candidates will have to secure 50% marks

Replying to a question, Bhopal Singh said that in CET, the general category candidates will have to secure 50 percent while other category candidates will have to get 40 percent marks. The Commission in collaboration with a Bangalore based company will get the audit of candidate’s applications.

Joint Director (Administration), Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Sh. Aman Kumar and other senior officers were also present in the press conference.
