Leh, May 11, 2021: Deputy Commissioner/Chairman, District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC), Leh, Mission for Integrated Development Horticulture (MIDH), Shrikant Suse, today convened a virtual meeting of DLCC members to discuss the annual plan under MIDH and approve the annual plan action under Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) for the year 2021-22.
The DLCC approved the annual action plan worth Rs 96,218,000 for MIDH and Rs 15,206,385 for ATMA for the holistic development of the horticulture and agriculture sectors and animal and sheep husbandry sectors under the ATMA scheme for Leh district for the year 2020-21.
This MIDH includes establishing new gardens, rejuvenation/replacement of senile plantation including canopy management, creation of water resources, protected cultivation, promotion of integrated nutrient management/ integrated post-management, etc. Similarly, the State Extension Work Plan (SEWPs) of the Agriculture Department Leh, including Developing Strategic Research and Extension Plan (SREP), training of farmers, organising demonstrations, exposure visit for farmers, mobilisation of farmer’s group FIG/WG/FO’s/CO/FC, rewards and incentives and establishment of ATMA-like institution, was proposed under ATMA scheme.
Chairman DLCC directed the concerned officials to provide subsidies to interested farmers. He also asked the concerned officials to make requisite changes in the budget under the ATMA scheme. He stressed the importance of implementing the components on the ground effectively for the maximum benefit of the farmers.
