KATHUA, JUNE 01, 2021: Chairperson, District Development Council Kathua, Mahan Singh today visited Government Medical College, Kathua and took a detailed review of arrangements put in place for Covid-19 patients and containment efforts by GMC authorities.
Vice Chairperson DDC, Raghunandan Singh, Chairman Kathua MC Naresh Sharma, ADDC Kathua Puneet Sharma, DDC Member Mandli Neeru Bala and other concerned officers were also present.
The Chairman took first hand appraisal from Principal GMC, Dr Anjali Nadir Bhat, Medical Superintendent Dr Chitra Vaishnavi, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ashok Chaudhary, about the available healthcare infrastructure and other facilities for Covid patients.
The Health authorities led by GMC Principal apprised the Chairperson about the difficulties and problems faced by hospital administration due to the shortage of technical and Housekeeping staff and Ambulances to cater to high footfall of patients during the current Corona times.
The Chairperson directed the concerned authorities to ensure round the clock care of COVID-19 positive patients in hospital, besides proper track of Covid patients in Home Isolation.
He also laid thrust on intensifying Vaccination drive across the district with special emphasis on less covered areas. He said the PRI members can play an effective role to achieve the desired pace of Vaccination.
Later, the Chairperson, accompanied by PRIs and ULB members, also visited the Oxygen Generation Plant and different sections of the Associated hospital. He also visited CHC Lakhanpur and took a review of the facilities being given to the patients.
