Chief Minister Manohar Lal pays homage to Sant Kabir Das Ji

Chandigarh June 24: Haryana Chief Minister while paying rich tributes to Sant Kabir Das Ji on his Birth Anniversary during a state-level programme ‘ Bhajan Sandhya’ held  at his residence today said that Sant Kabir Das Ji not only fought against social evils but also taught the lesson of humanity and love to the world.

Padma Shri Awardee Sh Prahlad Singh Tipaniya spreading Sant Kabir Ji’s  message of peace and harmony during state level Bhajan Sandhya Programme remained the highlight of the Bhajan Sandhya. He mesmerized the gathering with his renditions.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the noble teachings and ideals of Sant Kabir Das Ji even today continue to guide humanity towards equality and social harmony, while his writings too continue to inspire the people down many generations, he added.

“On this auspicious day, I bow to the great Sant Kabir Das Ji. I urge everyone to come forward and strengthen the bonds of society by following the path of reverence, devotion, equality and compassion as shown by him,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.

Quoting famous couplet of Sant Kabir Das Ji “Jati pati na puche koi, hari Ka bhaje Jo so hari Ka hoye,” Sh. Manohar Lal said that Sant Kabir Das Ji did not belong to any particular caste or community but always worked for the wellbeing of the entire humanity therefore everyone should pledge to imbibe the teachings of such great personalities in their lives so that the sense of disharmony in society ends and the spirit of equality, love, and brotherhood prevails.

 On this occasion, Chief Minister also honoured  Padma Shri Awardee Sh. Prahlad Singh Tipaniya and his group players by presenting the holy book of Bhagavad Gita.

The Chief Minister also saluted during the lowering of the flag ceremony which is being held every day in the evening on the similar lines of Rashtrapati Bhavan and Raj Bhavan.
