Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan honoured by attaching the emblem on the Armed Forces Flag Day by Director Sainik Welfare MP, Brigadier (retired) Arun Nair at the Chief Minister’s residence complex ‘Samatva’ Bhawan. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan granted an assistance amount and best wishes for the programme on Armed Forces Flag Day.
It may be noted that the Indian Armed Forces servicemen sacrifice their lives while performing their duties for the country, its internal security and natural disasters. December 7 is celebrated every year as Armed Forces Flag Day since 1949 by the citizens of the country to remember and honour these servicemen.
On this day, financial assistance schemes related to the welfare and rehabilitation of dependent families of martyrs, disabled servicemen, ex-servicemen, servicemen and their dependents are run with the money collected from distributing car flags and emblems to be installed on motor vehicles.
