Chief Secretary gave instructions, action to be taken by police on FIR should be listed under time table
Haryana has been consistently on top in the country in the CCTNS system, since September, 2021
Chandigarh, February 8 – Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, while presiding over the 19th meeting of the State Apex Committee constituted for Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS) here today, directed the officers to list the action to be taken by the police on the FIR under a time table so that monitoring of action taken at every level and speedy disposal of cases is possible.
Appreciating the police and other concerned departments, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal said that the Police Department implemented the (CCTNS) with the aim of curbing crime in the state using Information Technology. There have been further efficiencies in the methodology, as a result of which Haryana continues to top the CCTNS system in the country since September, 2021. For this they deserve appreciation.
All the relevant subjects may be forwarded to the Government Composite Team (GCT) constituted by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications to discuss the technical aspects for the CCTNS system in the meeting. Apart from this, approval was also given to constitute a Committee under the Chairmanship of Additional Director General of Police, (Telecom & IT) to take final decision on the matters related to operation and maintenance.
It was informed that under CCTNS system, Citizen Portal – All Time and Core Application Software (CAS) have been started. At present, a total of 39 services are being provided to the citizens of Haryana under the Right to Service through online citizen portal. It was also decided in the meeting that by February 28, the auto appeal system would be implemented under the Right to Service in the police. The portal is being used by citizens all the time to avail citizen services. All police stations are working on core application software.
It was informed in the meeting that the Call-112 button has also been made available on the website of Haryana Police for the purpose of providing information to the police immediately by the citizens. It was informed in the meeting that a provision to look into the pending action of FIR and record its reasons at various levels (SHO, DSP, SP and Range ADGSP/IGSP) has been developed in the core application software of CCTNS.
It was further informed that computer training laboratories have been started in the state to make the police personnel technically competent under CCTNS. Various role based training is given through Core Application Software (CAS). Additional modules of training have also been developed.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora, Principal Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Sh. Anil Malik, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar, Director General of Police, Sh. P.K. Agarwal, Additional Director General of Police, (Telecom & IT), Sh. A.S. Chawla and Managing Director, Hartron, Sh. Mandeep Brar along with other officers were present.
